MASS Conference 2014 – He Kura te Tangata
Where: Massey University, Palmerston North
When: Wednesday 19 - Friday 21 November 2014
Abstracts Due: 30 September 2014
He kura te tangata has been chosen as the 2014 conference theme. From a social science perspective our work is centred on understanding the social world with a particular focus on empowering our people through whānau, hapū, iwi and Māori development. He kura te tangata is a reminder that people are an important cultural resource and that when we mobilise as collectives, as Māori, whānau, hapū and iwi, we are actively involved in building better futures for our people. Such whakaaro have implications for the priorities and practices of social science, and how we celebrate and sustain Māori achievement and te ao Māori. The 2014 MASS conference will provide a forum for exploring these issues. Nau mai, piki mai, kake mai.
